Oracle Application Express

with 2 comments

One of the things that we have been looking closely at for the past few months is Oracle Application Express.

They have a fairly clean story for building E2E database applications that I find interesting and a compelling value proposition for businesses.

I think of this as a Web-based Access-ese tool over an enterprise class database.

Worth watching…

  2. This is definitely an interesting product and is dealing with important issues. I think a lot of people are confused about Microsoft’s strategy/offerings in this area. Access databases are derided but are often a fairly good solution from a user perspective (sometimes I wonder if IT pros actually care about people?), and then there is a fairly basic but centralized platform in SharePoint (which is probably better with SP 2010).
