My Biography
Douglas Purdy is a software architect at Microsoft working on software development tools, languages and frameworks.
He is responsible for the technical strategy of Microsoft’s data and modeling development efforts.
His vision is to broaden the franchise of people building applications, allowing non-professional developers and end-users to harness the full power of computing.
Douglas has worked on Microsoft’s developer tools and frameworks since 2001, focusing on distributed systems and Web services.
He was deeply involved in the development of Windows Communication Foundation which provides the foundation for SOAP and REST services in both Windows Server and Microsoft’s Azure Services Platform.
Most recently, Douglas led the “M” team, building Microsoft’s next generation data language.
He has been with Microsoft, on and off, since 1998 where he has worked in enterprise consulting, developer evangelism and product development.
